In 2025, Baroness Hilary Armstrong, Chair of the Independent Commission on Neighbourhoods (ICON), visited Bestwood as part of ICON’s nationwide programme to engage with local communities. During her visit, Baroness Armstrong met with community leaders and local stakeholders, gaining insights into the challenges and priorities facing the area. This visit was part of ICON’s ongoing mission to understand communities across England and support evidence-based neighbourhood improvements.
